SOUTHWEST SCHOOL OF ART & CRAFT SAN ANTONIO TX. JAN. 2010

This place is so great...it's an oasis in downtown. It was a Catholic School for girls built about 1850. It has absolutely lovely grounds that go down to the river in back. You can rent the chapel for weddings and then have the reception in the gazebo out back. In 1969 it was renovated and became the art center. They offer classes in pottery, weaving, sculpture, glass blowing etc. There is also a tea room that serves lunch.
1. A ceramic wall piece outdoors.
2. Tree ceramic.
3. It's the ART-O-MAT! These are refurbished cigarette machines that you buy art from. You buy a token for $5. and select what kind of art you want. I LOVE IT!!
4. A mosaic bench on the river.
5. Bird on the fountain.
6. Academy building.
7. Fountain.
8. Grotto.
9. Grotto
