COLOR GOES ON THE PATIO ROOF & THE MUSEUM SAYS 'BYE' TO JO.

So...the color is going up on the inside of the patio cover. The cool thing is that the colors are reflecting off the silver roof...we like!
Weather is heating up...will need to paint early in the a.m. from now on.
Forecast:
Mon.-101
Tues.-104
Wed.-103

This lady Jo is leaving her job at museum. That's she and her husband in the photo. She retired from teaching 3 years ago...took one week off and then started working at the museum. She lives in Barstow...4 miles to the East. Her husband is very ill so she needs to be home with him now. She's a very interesting person to talk to. They grow asparagus. It doesn't even make them any money any more...but everyone looks forward to it and loves it so much...they just keep a-growin' it. She's the person who told me the story about that lady who was addicted to buying hats. The museum just won't be the same without JO!

The museum bookstore and saloon are looking very good. They painted and lemon oiled everything. We have a special Elmer Kelton rack in the bookstore. The longhorn steer took the place of a falling apart moosehead. They were always sweeping up pieces of the moose's nose that kept falling apart. Pancho the bartender misses his moose friend.

Gene leaves tomorrow for Corpus Christi (for work) and will return late friday night. Then we leave for San Marcos/Kyle/Austin on Sunday and then fly out of Austin to Mexico on Tues. the 27th.

I'm excited to work the Old Timer's Reunion this Rodeo...it's the last weekend in June. The reunion is Wed. morning right before the parade. Then we are having OPEN HOUSE here that afternoon....see if we get any old timer's to tour our casa and hear some good stories...although from 2 till 5p.m. IS their nap time.
